About me.......

From a young age things that get my adrenaline going have always been of interest.

I loved watching motorsport, but Formula One really caught me from an early age. The likes of Mansell, Senna, Hill, Schumacher etc are hero’s that I always looked up to. How these men could drive their cars to the limit every race, getting the most out, even a tenth here or there could make or break their race...

In my late teens, moving out of my family home and perusing a career working most Sunday’s meant that I lost the connection I used to have with F1.

That all changed in 2007, when I heard about this rookie driver that was a ‘Fairly’ local boy to me from Stevenage, managing to keep a World Champion in Fernando Alonso honest in his McLaren. ‘I must see what all this is about’ I thought to myself....There begins the story of my passion for this wonderful sport being re-ignited.

I am a very passionate Lewis Hamilton fan, and generally will not hear a bad word against him. Yes he has his haters, but I think that’s what makes him so special. There is something in having a bona fide legend of the sport you like being active at the time you are enjoying watching it.

That being said, over the last few years I have felt myself warming to Fernando Alonso, as my other favourite thing in F1 is the Mclaren team. Seeing them go from the front to the back of the grid was hard. I was lucky enough to attend the Silverstone British GP in 2017, and was sitting in the International straight when Fernando managed to get on the slicks first and finish top in Q1. The cheers from the crowd were almost as electric as when Lewis managed to claim Pole!

I LOVE Go Karting, something about smelling the fuel and taking a Kart out on track that I cant get enough of. My usual haunt is Rye House in Hertfordshire, where Mr Hamilton used to ply his trade! I am quite proud that my fastest lap around the circuit is 43 seconds, not that many more than Lewis, but if it was F1 times would be an age (I am not the lightest boy in the world).

So....Formula One Models.....

My collection of Formula One cars started with picking up an issue 1 of the Panini produced F1 Car Collection Magazine (F1CC). I thought ‘For 2.99 its got to be worth it’......

Little did I realise that some months later I would have nearly 100 1:43 scale cars and 14 1:18 scale cars, with some 1/2 scale helmets, Nose cones and Pirelli tyres to boot!

Along the way my two boys, aged 6 and 8 had to ‘Vacate’ some of their playroom. Late on in 2017 I also started a collection of 1/2 scale lids, which sent me on another expensive path especially when it comes to the Modifications you can buy to make them more like the 1:1 originals.

I am often looking through eBay and Amazon looking for deals....That was one of the reasons for starting this blog. I belong to a Facebook page for Diecast collectors, met many chaps, and chapeses in a similar position to me, and the banter and chatting all things F1 Models is great!

A lot of my fellow collectors always joke that they are on ‘Spending’ curfews with their other half’s. I have been very lucky with my wonderful Wife, what helps is that she also has a collectible passion....Miniture Houses...So we both manage to have our own vices, without the other one having issues about spending time in the kids playroom!!

On my social media pages I will also list any bargain items that I find on my travels, so others can take advantage of the bargains I often find.

Please feel free to like and follow our Facebook page and follow me on Instagram! I am often giving away prizes of some sort, so keep your eyes peeled!

If there is anything that puzzles you, or you need any help or have queries, then please do not hesitate in dropping me an email via the contact us page.

I also do all the modifications/Upgrades myself, so if I have done anything that you like, email me and I’ll help you in the best way I can!

Thanks for taking the time to look and read through my blog!

Best regards

Peter
